BEFORE YOU RENT

Getting started

A few things most renters ask before choosing a space.

How do I choose the right size?

Start with a list of your largest items, then compare unit dimensions. Our Size Guide shows what typically fits in each common size.

Do I need climate control?

Consider it for furniture, electronics, documents, and anything sensitive to heat or temperature swings. Durable items often do fine in non-climate storage.

Can I rent online?

Many Copra Storage locations offer online rentals. Your facility page shows how to reserve or rent at that location.

ACCESS & PAYMENTS

Day-to-day questions

What to expect once you have a unit.

When can I access my unit?

Access hours are set by each facility and listed on its page. Office hours can be different from gate hours.

Do I need a long-term lease?

Most self storage rentals are month to month. Confirm rental terms with your facility before you sign.

How do I pay rent?

Payment options vary by location, and many facilities offer online payments. Ask your facility about autopay.

What items can’t I store?

Hazardous, flammable, perishable, and illegal items are not allowed in storage units. Your rental agreement lists the specific rules.

Do I need insurance or protection?

Many facilities require proof of insurance or a protection plan. Check your homeowner’s or renter’s policy and ask your facility about options.

Policies vary. Some locations include a lock with your rental, and others ask you to bring a disc or cylinder lock.

Can someone else access my unit?

You can usually authorize another person on your account. Ask your facility how to add them.

How do I move out?

Give your facility notice, remove your belongings, leave the unit broom clean, and remove your lock.
